PhD position at Siemens in Berlin (hybrid) developing prospective life cycle assessment (LCA) methods for the Circular Economy in industrial systems.
You will research and develop novel LCA methodologies that capture future circular economy scenarios including closed-loop manufacturing, remanufacturing and industrial symbiosis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop prospective LCA methods for circular economy scenarios
- Apply LCA to industrial case studies (electronics, manufacturing)
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate with Siemens business units on circular economy strategies
Requirements:
- Master's degree in environmental engineering, industrial ecology, sustainability or related
- Strong knowledge of life cycle assessment (ISO 14040/44)
- Programming skills for LCA software (e.g. openLCA, SimaPro)
- Fluent German and English
